Celebrated stage couple Piotr Beczała and Sonya Yoncheva reunite in Giordano’s ANDREA CHÉNIER

Giordano’s passionate tragedy ANDREA CHÉNIER stars tenor Piotr Beczała as the romantic poet Andrea Chénier who is overwhelmed by his impossible love for the beautiful Maddalena, sung by Sonya Yoncheva. She is a pampered aristocrat, and he is but a poor member of the French Revolution. But even though their entire world is being torn apart by unprecedented violence, their love will not be denied – even if it costs both of them their lives. Baritone Igor Golovatenko is Carlo Gérard, the agent of the Reign of Terror who seals their fates. Daniele Rustioni takes the podium to lead Nicolas Joël’s gripping staging.
